History
The Patra Conferene Center was born in 2022 when Patra moved it's corporate offices from Latrobe Road to Town Center Blvd as Patra continued to expand. Post Covid, not many employees were going to the office, but there was a need to have a meeting space that could manage large groups of employees that would travel the globe to attend. Since there was nothing in the area that could handle Patra's requirements, Patra invested in creating this very unqiue space.
Assisting the Community
Realizing that the meeting space would not be utilized on a regular basis, Patra decided to offer the space to the local community to assist non profits with class A space for their meetings. It could also serve as a way to perform fundraising for Patra's own charity Patra Proud, which is dedicated to helping children of the active military as well as charities in the local community helping disadvantaged youth and children.
The Birth of El Dorado Hills Workspaces
In 2025, the Founder and CEO of Patra, John Simpson, retired from Patra as the CEO, and as such, a new CEO was brought in to take the reigns. The new CEO currently resides in Tampa, FL and with any the change in leadership comes different business strategies and decisions. While Patra will continue to use the space periodically, management has decided to terminate the practice of offering the space to the local community due to rising costs.
Understanding this direction, local residents John Simpson, Steve Parkhurst and Carl Tarrant set out to find a solution to keep the faciltiy open to continue to help the local nonprofits as well as other local business. And thus El Dorado Hills Event Center along with Patra Proud (soon to be EDH Proud) was conceived.
How it will work
El Dorado Hills Event Center is division of Patra Proud (soon to be EDH Proud) that focuses on the marketing, renting, and operations of the Patra Proud space in El Dorado Hills. EDH Event Center provides management and facility maintenance as well as the operational staff to keep the space available to the local community. Patra has agreed to continue to allow for the space to be utilized as stated with the understanding that while Patra continues to pay a very costly lease for the space, there is a goal to have Patra Proud / El Dorado Hills Event Center reimburse them as much as possible. Achieving this goal will be accomplished through a revenue share model with Patra for any rentals made. This will help them offset their lease costs.
Patra Proud (Soon to be EDH Proud)
Part of Patra Proud's mission is offer the space to local charities and nonprofits at a significant discount so that they can continue to push forward their important missions. We believe having good space to host meetings and events is critical for continued success which is difficult with toady's high costs and limited availabilty. For this reason, among other important community reasons, we will be changing the name from Patra Proud to EDH Proud
